Carter, McLeod highlight 2022-23 CHSL basketball honor team

DETROIT, Mich. – The Detroit Catholic High School League (CHSL) Coaches Association released their girl's basketball honor team prior to the Bishop and Cardinal Division championship games Saturday at Calihan Hall.

While Marian High School finished in fifth place, just out of contention for a Bishop playoff spot, two student-athletes were selected for their contributions during league play.

CC Carter, Marian's sole senior has been a solid contributor off the bench for head coach Michelle Lindsey's Mustangs. Only averaging just under 13 minutes per game in conference play, Carter was a solid defensive presence and was a .500 shooter.

An outstanding student, Carter was selected to the CHSL all-Academic team.

Starting all eight league games, Molly McLeod is Marian's point guard and floor general. McLeod was 17-of-64 from 3-point range (26.6%) and hit 24-of-32 shots (75.0%) from the charity stripe. Overall, McLeod averages 13.1 points per game.

For her efforts, the sophomore guard was selected to the CHSL Bishop Division all-League list.
