Marian picks up two wins, falls to Grosse Pointe South
GROSSE POINTE - The Marian swim & dive team traveled to the Boll Center on the campus of Grosse Pointe South High School to conclude the dual meet portion of their season.
In what started as a single dual meet ended up taking the appearance of a championship meet with the late additions of Dakota High School and Cass Technical of the Detroit Public School League.
Marian defeated both the Technicians of Cass Tech, 128-39, and the Dakota Cougars, 115-53, but fell to the Division 1 host Blue Devils, 117-60.
Senior Julia Waechter won the 50 yard freestyle (24.69) and junior Grace Morgan captured the diving event (168.35) during the first half of the meet.
Waechter continued her dominance, winning the 100 yard freestyle (54.09), while teammate Lilly Masters took second place (55.94).
