Marian Athletics Announces Fall Tryout Information
Welcome to the 2026-2027 Marian Athletics season!
At Marian Athletics, we're Built on Tradition. Powered by Women. We are excited to welcome our returning and new Mustangs as we begin another year of competition, teamwork, and excellence. Please review the information below and complete all required registration steps before Monday, August 10, 2026, to ensure you are eligible to participate in fall tryouts and practices.
Before You Can Participate
Students wishing to participate in a Fall 2026 sport must complete the following requirements before Monday, August 10, 2026.
1. Complete FinalForms Registration
Register your student through FinalForms at:
https://marian-mi.finalforms.com/
A link is also available under RESOURCES on the Marian Athletics website
Freshmen and transfer students: You may begin registration using a personal email address until your Marian email account is activated. Once your Marian email is available, please complete your registration using your school account.
2. Complete and Upload Your Sports Physical
All Marian student-athletes must have a valid MHSAA Physical uploaded to FinalForms before August 10, 2026.
Physical Requirements
- Must be dated April 15, 2026, or later
- Must be uploaded to FinalForms before participation
Physical forms may be:
- Downloaded from the MHSAA website
- Picked up in the Marian Athletic Office
Pro Tip: Complete your FinalForms registration first! You can then print a pre-populated physical form to take to your physician, eliminating duplicate information.
Please Note: Students will not be permitted to try out or practice until their coach can verify that a valid physical has been uploaded to FinalForms.
3. Athletic Participation Fees
Athletic participation fees are not due at the time of registration.
Payment will open once a student has earned a roster spot and must be completed before the first contest of the season.
- $225 participation fee per sport
- Payment is made only through FinalForms.
- A convenience fee will be added to cover payment processing costs.
Winter and Spring Sports: Fees are not due until before the first contest of those respective seasons.
Students interested in participating in more than one sport during the same season must receive approval from the Athletic Director.
We encourage students to register for every sport they are interested in. Once a student earns a place on a team and decides to participate, the athletic fee will be due before the first contest.
4. Academic Eligibility
Students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 must:
- Have passed at least six (6) classes during the previous semester.
- Have earned a minimum 2.0 GPA during the previous semester.
Transfer student eligibility will be determined by the Athletic Director in accordance with Marian High School and MHSAA policies.

FALL SPORTS TRYOUTS AND PRACTICE INFORMATION
CROSS COUNTRY
- Head Coach: Chris Vanneste (chris.vanneste@smithgroupjjr.com), 586.242.2520.
- Practice begins Aug. 10, 4:00-5:30pm Meet at Marian HS Ferris Foyer
- Athletes must bring running clothes, running shoes, water and a jump rope.
FIELD HOCKEY

- Tryouts (all levels) August 10-12
- Aug. 10: 9:00am - 12:00pm @ Brother Rice - Ambrose Field
- Aug. 11: 11:00am - 2:00pm @ Brother Rice - Ambrose Field
- Freshmen will attend Freshman Orientation until 12:00 PM and should report to Brother Rice by approximately 12:30 PM for the remainder of tryouts.
- Aug. 12: 1:30pm - 4:00pm @ Brother Rice - Ambrose Field
- Practices begin August 13th
- Athletes must bring stick, colored mouthguard, shin guards, goggles (optional), water bottle, snack (if necessary)

Tryout Information:
Please note that cuts may be made after each day of tryouts. The final team roster will be determined at the conclusion of Day 3.
Athletes should bring:
- Golf clubs
- Appropriate golf attire
- Rain gear (if needed)
- Pull cart (or be prepared to rent one at the course)
Day 1 – Monday, August 10
Grades 10–12- Location: Evergreen Hills Golf Course, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, MI 48076
- Time: 7:30–8:30 a.m.
- Cost: $15 per golfer
9th Grade
- Location: Carl's Golfland
- Time: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Cost: $12 per golfer
Day 2 – Tuesday, August 11
Grades 10–12
- Location: The Links at Crystal Lake, 800 Golf Drive, Pontiac, MI 48341
- Time: 7:00–8:00 a.m.
- Cost: $15 per golfer
9th Grade
- Location: The Links at Crystal Lake, 800 Golf Drive, Pontiac, MI 48341
- Time: 1:45 p.m.
- Cost: $15 per golfer
Day 3 – Wednesday, August 12
Final Round (Invitation Only)
- Location: Evergreen Hills Golf Course
- Tee Times: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- Athletes advancing to Day 3 will be notified by the coaching staff.
FALL SAILING (WITH BROTHER RICE)

- Signup meeting will be announced after the beginning of the school year.
- Cost includes coaching/practice fees, use of boats. 2026-2027 Season: TBD
