BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Mary Rogers '88, a standout basketball player who left an indelible mark on both Marian High School and Wayne State University, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever take the court. Known for her remarkable scoring ability and leadership, Rogers led the Marian basketball team to a 42-8 record during her junior and senior years, helping propel the team to two state quarterfinal appearances.
Rogers' basketball journey reached new heights at Wayne State University, where she continued to showcase her incredible talent. She became the school's top free-throw shooter and shattered the all-time scoring record during her senior year, solidifying her place among the university's elite athletes. Rogers was a two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection and earned the prestigious GLIAC Player of the Week honor for her outstanding performances.
Her legacy at Wayne State is firmly entrenched, as she remains one of the top players in the school's history. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the sport, Mary Rogers Miller was inducted into the Wayne State Hall of Fame in 2003.
